Synthesia review
The enterprise standard for avatar video in training and internal comms - included for context, but the wrong tool for scrappy performance-ad UGC.
Rubric breakdown
The five weighted criteria behind the 7.1.
What's good
- Excellent, consistent enterprise-grade avatars
- Enormous language coverage for training content
- Security/compliance posture enterprises need
What to watch
- Output is corporate, not authentic-UGC
- Not built for performance-ad hooks or testing
- Value is poor if your goal is scrappy ads
The verdict
Synthesia is the enterprise standard for avatar video, and it is genuinely great at what it targets: training, onboarding, internal comms, and knowledge content at scale, in an enormous range of languages.
It is on this list mainly so you do not reach for it by mistake. Its output is deliberately clean and corporate, which is the opposite of what authentic UGC ads want. For performance-ad testing it is both the wrong style and poor value.
If your job is L&D or comms, Synthesia is excellent. If your job is TikTok/Meta UGC ads, pick an ad-first tool instead.
